Spanning April to June, City of Melbourne’s new venture Lo-fi Lounge is a collection of free acoustic music events, held in outdoor spaces across Melbourne.
An opportunity to connect with community, neighbours and family over the shared experience of live music, Lo-fi Lounge will see the likes of Madi Colville-Walker, Pirritu and Nathan Slater perform for the series.

The opening Lo-fi Lounge event, on Saturday April 10, will see Carl Pannuzzo & The Flukes perform at Carlton’s Kathleen Syme Library, while Nathan Slater takes to Southbank’s Boyd Park on the same day.
Slater is a virtuoso guitarist and singer, who’s constantly gigging around town, performing at venues such as the Paris Cat Jazz Club and The Jazzlab.
On Saturday April 17, La Mauvaise Réputation will bring their signature brand of Parisian hot jazz and French chanson to Docklands’ Buluk Park. Then on Saturday May 8, catch Madi Colville-Walker at Boyd Park, while Pirritu performs at the Kathleen Syme Library, as part of YIRRAMBOI Festival.
Colville-Walker is a proud Yorta Yorta woman, who is gearing up for a big 2021 ahead, having commenced collaborations with a bunch of other artists. She also sets her sights on working with Jason Resch, who’s featured on records from the likes of Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue.
Pirritu is equally talented – a creative thinker, the music troubadour and proud Ngiyampaa man tells stories of his own personal journey through gentle, honest and melodic songwriting.
Tickets to Lo-fi Lounge are free but bookings are required to attend the event. In the case of bad weather, the sessions will be moved inside. More gigs will be announced for June, so stay tuned for that.
