This design market is bringing locally-made art, wares and food to Coburg

Support your friendly neighbourhood creator.

It’s no secret Melbourne boasts a bursting creative scene, yet small businesses and independent designers can easily get lost amongst the noise of chain stores and shopping centres. For this reason, Melbourne Collective is bringing a new exhibitors design market to Coburg, showcasing the wares and designs from local business owners and creatives.

Bringing the work of over 60 independent designers under one roof, the market will host stalls containing locally-made art, decor, fashion, jewellery, homewares, ceramics, stationery, body and health products, food and vegan goodies. From baby clothing and dog treats to handmade earrings and natural sprays for your garden, you’re likely to find what you’re looking for.

The lineup of stalls includes a massive selection of eco-friendly items, ranging from jewellery made out of recycled bicycle tubes by Spliced Eco Fashion to Little Bumble’s beeswax wraps — the perfect cling wrap substitute to help curb your plastic usage in the kitchen. There’s also a range of nasty-free, natural body products from the likes of Bon Lux, Blossom Brew, and Lenzo and Merchant to keep your grooming routine fresh.

With so many stalls to peruse, you’re bound to get peckish but fear not: the market has you covered on that front too. Grab yourself a coffee from Barrel of Beans and a bite at The Bearded Jaffle, St. Gerrys or Mantra Lounge Vegan Food to keep the hunger pangs at bay while you browse.

Even if you walk away empty-handed (which, let’s face it, is very unlikely), you’re certain to leave with a slate of must-watch local designers on your radar.

Exhibitors Design Market is happening on Saturday August 10 from 9am until 2pm at Coburg Town Hall. For more information, head to the Melbourne Collective website or the Exhibitors Design Market Facebook event page
