A music photography exhibit is landing in Melbourne

Featuring photos of some high-profile acts.

Melbourne music photographer Lewis Nixon is hosting a photography exhibit at Fitzroy’s Satellite Gallery (inside The Old Bar), exhibiting the best works of Melbourne’s ‘rocktographers’.

The five photographers on show include Kylie Carns, Rebecca Houlden, Nate Hill, Jaz Meadows and Cath Connell. Among them, they’ve photographed the likes of rock legend Robert Plant, electronica pioneers The Prodigy, and Aussie music veterans Jimmy Barnes and Midnight Oil.

The exhibition’s opening night will include live music from Melbourne-based acts including indie rockers Dental Plan, grunge trio SLOMO, Nathan Seeckts, and T.S.S. It’ll be a hell of a going away shindig and there’ll be jugs from $15, so that’s always good too.

So Long & Thanks For All The Shows will run from Tuesday May 14 until Sunday May 26, tickets $10 at the door. More info via The Old Bar website or the Facebook event page.
