A mouthwatering international dumpling festival is heading to Melbourne

Words by Tim Thorpe

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which dumpling is best of them all?

From the organisers of the widely popular Momo Fest comes the massive Melbourne International Dumpling Festival, another mouthwatering festival dedicated to dumplings from around the world.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of xiao long bao, pierogies, gyoza, manti, mandoo, matzah balls or ravioli, this appetising event invites you to let your tastebuds drool. The festival comes complete with a full array of entertainment including multicultural performances, roving performers, kids entertainment, face painting, DJs and dumpling eating competitions.

Entry to the event will cost you a gold coin donation, but if you register online via Eventbrite, entry is free.

The Melbourne International Dumpling Festival takes place on Monday November 4 at Queen Victoria Market. More info on the festival’s Facebook event page.
