A massive new blues festival is coming to St Kilda

Featuring a bunch of local blues faves.

The Melbourne blues scene is set to welcome a new member of the festival family, with the inaugural St Kilda Blues Festival staking its claim later on this month.

A pet project of Dogs Bar owners Sonya and Gavan Breen, the St Kilda Blues Festival is much more than the music itself. The festival also pays homage to the venues who host the shows.

“It’s all about the music and the venues. These streets are full of hardworking passionate businesses who love the area and support music. Nothing else,” Gavan Breen says.

Gracing the first ever blues festival lineup include Catfish Voodoo, Phil Manning and The Shuffle Club. Altogether, 40 bands are gearing up to take over St Kilda. With more than 21 venues participating and 60 gigs scheduled across three days, it’s looking like the St Kilda Blues Festival is ready to make a big first impression.
