Impressionist fans rejoice, a John Russell exhibition, John Russell: Australia’s French Impressionist, is setting up shop in the Art Gallery of New South Wales and a few of his peers are set to join him.

Russell, who painted with fellow historic impressionist artists Van Gogh, Henri Matisse and Claude Monet, will be recognised through one of the biggest exhibitions of his work yet – featuring 120 of his works.

As well as showcasing one of Australia’s most influential impressionists, the exhibition will also showcase a handful of artworks by artists he worked with including Auguste Rodin, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh sourced from around the world.

Whether you’re an art enthusiast up for travelling for a good exhibition or you’re in the area, be sure to check out John Russell: Australia’s French Impressionist.
