A ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ virtual block party is happening this weekend

To celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.

The cast of iconic ’90s TV series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, came together recently for a catchup over Zoom as part of Will Smith’s ‘Will From Home’ Snapchat series. Now, they’re throwing a full-on virtual block party. Well, at least the show’s beloved DJ is.

To celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary, with the first show airing all the way back in September 1990, the OG Fresh Prince music producer, DJ Jazzy Jeff, will team up with a long list of DJs to present an all-day blockbuster.

Titled ‘Break the Monotomy’, which are lyrics in Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s classic track ‘Summertime’, the digital block party will honour “the music, style, and community of The Fresh Prince,” according to a statement.

You can expect DJ Jazzy Jeff to perform, while there will also be appearances from DJs such as Just Blaze, DJ Clark Kent, Neil Armstrong, Four Color Zack, DJ D-Nice and so many more.

So if you’re a lover of everything Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, then you’re in for a wild ride. The show will kick off on Saturday May 9 from 12pm ET time in the US, which equates to 2am Sunday May 10 AEST time. From there, the party will continue for 12 hours straight.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air virtual block party goes down on Sunday May 10 from 2am AEST time via DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Instagram page.
