A festival dedicated to live music and dessert is coming to Melbourne

Sweet.

Combining Melburnians’ love of food and music, Sweetstock is bringing a two-day festival filled with dessert challenges, decadent food trucks and live performances to Melbourne Showgrounds this March.

With sugary treats ranging from popsicles and ice-creams to doughnuts and cakes, the fleet of food trucks will ensure no sweet tooth goes unsatisfied.

Nitrogen ice-cream connoisseurs 196° Below will be whipping up fresh, instant ice-cream alongside fellow scoopers Retro Birdie Ice-Cream & Desserts, serving cones straight from a vintage ice-cream truck.

Other icy treats include Popstick’s Instagram-worthy popsicles and Q Dessert On A Stick’s all-natural, handcrafted ice-creams. If you’re chasing something a bit doughier, grab yourself a Greek doughnut from St.Gerry’s or check out the allergy and dietary-friendly range of goodies at Sweet Forbidden Journey.

Fugazi Pizza will also be slinging gourmet pizzas, for those wanting a savoury hit, plus there will be loads more tasty treats to wrap your lips around.

As for the entertainment, there will be plenty on offer, with circus acts, street performers and a sprinkling of live music on the menu.

Leading the festival’s music offering comes dance duo Sneaky Sound System, certain to have you grooving through your sugar rush. They’ll be joined by Alice Ivy, Jawbreakers and Approachable Members Of Your Local Community, with more acts to be announced.

There will also be a cake battle, a baking masterclass and a doughnut-eating contest, along with live art, kids rides and so much more.

Be sure to come with an empty stomach.

Sweetstock is happening at Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday March 28 and Sunday March 29. For tickets and more details, head to the Sweetstock website
