A ‘dining in the dark’ experience is coming to Melbourne

A secret venue in the CBD will host the concept event in March.

Across two nights in March, a venue in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD will turn off the lights for a special ‘dining in the dark’ experience titled Pitch Black: Dinner in the Dark.

What you need to know

  • Pitch Black is happening at a secret location on Sunday March 21 and Wednesday March 25
  • Each dining experience lasts 90 minutes and features a two-course meal with a drink
  • Diners can choose from three set menus with the option to pre-order drinks before entering the dark dining room

Head to Beat Eats for more food news.

Upon arrival, guests will be required to hand over phones, watches and all other potential sources of light before being accompanied into the dining room where they’ll be met by total darkness. With no visual distractions, diners will spend the 90-minute experience indulging their other senses to truly taste, smell, feel and hear their food.

There are three set menus to choose from, each offering a two-course meal with a drink. Dietary requirements and allergies can be catered to and additional drinks can be pre-purchased before entering the dark dining room. There will also be the option to stick around after dinner for drinks at the bar.

There are only two nights to experience Pitch Black, and with limited capacity due to COVID-19, you’ll want to book your tickets fast.

Shrouded in mystery and utter darkness, this unique dining experience is one you’re certain to remember.

Pitch Black: Dinner in the Dark is happening on Sunday March 21 and Wednesday March 25. Book your table here
