They'll appear alongside San Cisco, Tkay Maidza and more.
Sounds Australia have been working to introduce the international music scene to Australian talent for the past ten years and this June, they’ll be taking six homegrown acts to The Big Apple with THE AUSSIE BBQ SummerStage 2019 to do just that.
Showcasing some of our country’s hottest talent, THE AUSSIE BBQ SummerStage will feature performances from A.B. Original, Tkay Maidza, San Cisco, The Teskey Brothers, Waax and Hermitude. Taking place in NY’s Central Park, the showcase is the brainchild of Sounds Australia in collaboration with the Australian Consul-General, New York and Australia Council for the Arts.
“Being able to present a line-up of such important talent, in the heart of New York City in celebration of ten years of exporting Australian music to the world, is a milestone event we are incredibly proud of. We are hoping that this inaugural showcase is only the first of many and just the beginning of a long term partnership with SummerStage,” said Sounds Australia Executive Producer Millie Millgate of the inaugural event.
In addition to THE AUSSIE BBQ SummerStage performances, the initiative will also provide a luncheon for the artists, managers and labels to meet American music industry and media heavyweights in hopes of fostering international relationships.
