Yah Yah's

There might be few things that will get you venturing into Collingwood (apart from the killer breakfast at Gluttony), but Yah Yah's bar will probably be one of them. And, yes, there may be a host of other bars and hotels in the area that have live music every weekend, but the simple fact is that Melbourne has more live music acts then we know what to do with! So thank whatever Gods are listening that we have another stage for them to strut their aural stuff on.

Although the name itself may bring to mind starlets like Pamela Anderson or Jordan, this new bar comes courtesy of the Pony/Bar Open crew. And if you've ever dropped in on a live music night at either bar, you know they mean business. Naturally, Yah Yah's is the same. Open every Thursday to Sunday (although these hours will increase), local and interstate acts take to the stage, ripping into rock, indie, folk, rockabilly and more. And once the bands have done their stuff, you can shimmy to some wholesome retro, soul, garage or surf rock from the resident DJs.

Of course, all this music goes hand-in-hand a good beer. If you want a cocktail, try Polly or Orange around the corner; this is a beer (and sometimes wine) bar. Groups tend to grab a few jugs of Carlton so they don't have to leave their primo seats, while those going solo (or, on the pull) like to swan around with an import or a handcrafted brew. Either way, everyone's here to get their rock on.
