Velour Bar
there are no venues to display.
Walking a fine line between bar and nightclub, Velour offers cheap drinks, sleek decor and a soundtrack that could come straight from one of those Party Favourites compilations they sell at petrol stations. If you like pop hits from the '80s and '90s, then you'll love Velour on a Friday and Saturday night. While the music selection is undeniably cheesy, the actual decor is quite sleek and modern. With polished wooden floors, leather ottomans and a beige and brown colour scheme, the layout is far more stylish than the discounted drinks and music would suggest. Mind you, the venue gets pretty busy early in the evening and the quiet calm of the late afternoon is well and truly shattered by 6pm.
That may have something to do with the drinks. Velour offers a full accompaniment of wine, spirits, cocktails and beers at very reasonable prices. While Tuesday is student night, things get more corporate towards the end of the week - the 5pm-11pm happy hour on Fridays attracting the lion's share of office workers from the surrounding buildings. Still, if you're looking for a casual bar with cheap drinks and a cheerful crowd, Velour is worth a look.
