Three Below

Employing a world-renowned interior design team has its benefits. Sure, you're going to pay for it, but when your bar is awarded Interior Design of the Year for two consecutive years by the Hospitality Design Awards, then it's a solid investment. Several years on, Three Below is still very impressive. Located in City Square, it's a local haunt for corporate types and has crowds spilling out the doors on Friday evenings. The interior design brief was to "create the idea of being in a forest" and that's something that the acclaimed Six Degrees design team delivered. Step inside and you'll find abstract tree trunks constructed from a mix of concrete, steel and custom lighting. Look up higher and you'll notice that the ceiling is composed of salvaged wood panels and fabrics - all very swish and lovely. And if you get their early in the evening you may even be able to secure a spot by the fold-back windows at the front - perfect for people watching. Cocktails are a speciality at Three Below and the venue adjusts the list with the seasons, ensuring only the freshest produce is used. Alternatively, they offer 100 different bottled wines and a dozen options by the glass. If you prefer amber ales they have six beers on tap and 50 bottled varieties. Basically, there are a lot of very good reasons to sample this CBD bar.
