Station Hotel

Over the years, the Station Hotel has seen many reincarnations. Only 10 years ago, it was a corner hotel, filled with barflies and pensioners, talking the ear off the bar staff and wearing an ass groove into their bar stool. Now, the fresh, new face of the hotel is as fashionable and appealing as any in the area - bar the footballer/bottle blonde hotbed that is Boutique. And it has to be really. Expectations from Prahran and South Yarra drinkers are high. Quite simply, the Station seems to come up ok in that regard. Set out into various areas, the long, main bar serves a range of beers, cocktails and read-to-drink bottles to the majority of punters. Meanwhile, the upstairs lounge and bar is a little more relaxing, with plasmas and a pool table for those out for more than a cold one and some conversation. If you're keen on some sun, the courtyard, while on the small side, can accommodate you and co. And although the prices might suit the location's rental range, the crowd is always jovial, and you won't have to deal with 'hot heads' or vagabonds when moving about on the dancefloor. A great spot to meet up with your mates on a Friday night, or just for a lazy Sunday session.
