Spice Market
there are no venues to display.
Melbourne bars are known for their understated elegance and charm. Some antique lamps and couches, weathered photos on the walls and back alley charm are almost par for the course. Spice Market is different. It may have the obligatory back alley entrance, but once you descend the stairwell you'll find yourself in a luxuriously appointed venue that's part bar, part nightclub and all glitz. Fusing Middle and Far East-design aesthetics, Spice Market is 800 square metres of private alcoves, plush lounges, glass mosaics, antiques and vibrant colours. Housed underneath the Grand Hyatt Hotel, it has the buzz of a nightclub, with a decidedly more sophisticated crowd. The main room features a sunken lounge area appointed with spacious couches, elaborate ottomans and a sea of gold lighting and art installations. If you want a bit more privacy there are various private booths available towards the back of the room, as well as small alcoves jutting out from the gold and marble hallway off to one side. Drinks at Spice Market encompass everything you'd expect from a high-end bar, taking in a good wine list, Champagne and cocktails. Speaking of which, cocktails all come in under $17 and there's table service for those who get there early and manage to secure a seat in the lounge.
