Saint & Rogue

Located just 100 metres from Southern Cross station, the Saint and Rogue is a traditional pub that's been dragged into the 21st century. Built 150 years ago, it's been tastefully refurbished over the years and these days it's a comfortable mix of old-world charm and contemporary chutzpah. Aimed at the upper end of the market, the decor is all plush leather armchairs, polished brass, hunting lodge wainscoting and ornate wallpapers. Venture upstairs to the kitchen/dining area and you'll discover a world of private booths and banquettes. Saint and Rogue offer a good selection of imported and boutique beers that go well beyond the traditional pub selection. If you prefer something with a bit more kick there's a full cocktail menu on hand offering very reasonable prices - the Saint and Rogue Iced Tea (which opts for a cranberry finish) is only $15. Naturally, there's a selection of top-shelf liquors on hand and the wine list runs for several pages - just the thing should your train be delayed and you need to be far from the madding crowd, cradling a scotch before your journey. If you're looking for an upmarket yet casual venue for a business lunch/drinks, Saint and Rogue comes highly recommended. It walks the line between pub and lounge while offering the best of both.
