For 90 years it traded as the Hotel Max, and in 2010 with new tenants, and a major internal renovation it took on the name Prince Maximilian once again. The main bar area has been transformed into a bright open space, using traditional tiling on the walls, in a unique herringbone patter from the original art deco flooring. The walls are flush with period sconces and bold pendant lights hang over the bar providing a modern and comfortable space to be enjoyed by it’s customers. Gone is the wall between the old bar and dinning room; the two spaces are married together by an impressive 7 meter long bar. There’s an upstairs too; a fully functioning cocktail bar and function space taking advantage of the views up Commercial road from the curved windows.
