Negroni Bar & Grill

Negroni is certainly opulent. Incorporating an Espresso Bar, Wine Bar and downstairs Cellar Bar, it offers two levels of leather couches, imposing chandeliers, renaissance-style mirrors and wall-to-wall wine racks. There's a real old-world European feel to the place, one that's only enhanced by the polished wooden floors, brown and beige colour scheme, baroque tables and classic arched windows looking out onto Collins Street.

While the street-level espresso and wine bar are impressive enough - and offer alfresco street dining alongside coffees and a quick drink - it's the downstairs cellar where the real deals are struck. With low, moody lighting, money (almost) dripping from the fittings and a professional crowd, it's the sort of place you might imagine James Bond would hang out for a martini or two.

On that note, the drinks selection at Negroni is almost as impressive as the actual decor. Wine is obviously the main selling point and they literally have row upon row stacked up around the walls. If you're looking for a drink with more kick, they offer a full cocktail list and the professionally trained bar staff can put together almost anything you dare imagine - except maybe Homer Simpson's fabled Skittlebrow. Basically, if you're looking to impress, Negroni Bar and Grill will do the job.
