Open: Thurs-Sat 9.30pm-late
You really have to be in a certain age bracket and frame of mind to appreciate Fusion at Crown. Refined and subtle is not really what the club is about. Not when there are girls with Bacardi Breezers swaying unevenly and groups of guys pumping their fists in unison on the dancefloor. But that's the thing; 20-year-olds going clubbing at Crown Casino on a Saturday night are not really looking for superior scotch or extensive wine lists. There's plenty of time for that kind of action later. Fusion appreciates this and serves up exactly what their clientele want: commercial club tunes, lots of strobe and lighting effects, two large bars to facilitate the swift purchase of booze and a space in which to meet other likeminded people. So yeah, the crowd is young and messy, the drinks menu is nonexistent and the decor is brash; there's nothing wrong with that, provided you're in the right frame of mind and know what you're getting yourself into. Oh, and as long as you can make your way past the two separate security checks and line-ups required to get into Fusion. But hey, if it all gets a bit much you can just wonder the casino instead - it's infinitely amusing in the early hours. Or, failing that, just order another premixed drink at the bar and find someone whose ear you can scream into over the music.
