EQ Cafebar

It cannot be denied, Melbourne has an insatiable appetite for the Arts. We also have an insatiable thirst for good booze and quality cocktails. At last someone (if you're reading, may the gods bless your cotton socks) has merged the two into a stylish, late-night affair. EQ Bar, jutting from the side of the Arts Centre, is the ideal place for a pre-show aperitif, a casual meal or a slap-up, celebratory binge. With a lengthy cocktail list and fine dining menu to impress the socks off any date, EQ seems to cover all those bases nicely.
The cocktail list moves through all the usual suspects, with martinis, cosmopolitans and Japanese slippers popular among the 30-something set who frequent the bar on a regular basis. The boutique and import beer selection is fine, but you may want to look elsewhere in the city if you want an expansive list. That said, you will still find all your favourites here - Corona, Heineken, Guinness, Boags, Coopers et al and Becks on tap for those who like their beer 'hopsy'.
Rounding out the list of drinks, the wine list is where you will probably settle for the night. A collection of Australian and New Zealand varietals, the flavours and quality of the wines are matched only by the prices.
