Cubby House
there are no venues to display.
Not everyone wants to brave the cab lines, cost and drama of getting into the city for a decent drink. In response, the suburbs have seen a new crop of boutique bars open. Sitting somewhere between an inner-city nightclub and local pub, these venues provide a middle ground that won't see you go bankrupt in cab fares. Located in Moonee Ponds, Cubby House epitomises this suburban bar scene.
Duck in during the week and you'll find a bright and spacious venue spread over two rooms. Whether you opt for the front bar or the main room, the polished, wooden floors, high ceilings and casually strewn lounges make for a relaxed atmosphere.
The drink selection goes for an upmarket, inner-city feel. You'll find a selection of imported beers and cocktails making up the bulk of the alcohol sales. While the cocktails do tend to sway towards the strawberries and cream variety, guys can always order themselves a 'tropical surprise'.
