Convent Bakery & Boiler Room Beer Garden
Domenico Raco with his team established from inception the Convent Bakery, now a renowned, reputable institution within the Abbotsford Convent precint. Nesteled witihin the wall of the Convent Annexe or Kitchen wing are two magnificient wood fired mansory ovens built in 1901. Amazingly it is in these ovens that the Convent Bakery, through the hands of Artisan Bakers produces a unique variety of old-fashioned wood fired bread. The Boiler Room, adjacent to the bakery, was used by the nuns to keep warm during the winter months, but now provides wines and award winning beers from Australian micro breweries to keep you cool in summer.
