Thee Oh Sees

You can’t stop Thee Oh Sees’ John Dwyer – the man’s a fucking machine.  And this is none of your crappy Ikea cast-off machines that cost $20, work a few times and then die in the arse with ne’er an electronic whimper nor a warranty in sight – this is serious shit, the type of machine that sits in the corner of the room churning some serious shit out like there’s no tomorrow, makes a bunch of...

The sun beat down and the FOMO creeped in as we waited the 40-odd minutes to gain entry into Schoolhouse Studios. Dick Diver had already kicked off their set, and it felt like a very real possibility that we would miss the entirety of it. But we made it in time to hear their recent single Alice, which went down a treat in the sun-drenched courtyard. Top-notch album-closer Head Back made a...

Having built a feverishly prolific reputation for their immense output, Thee Oh Sees return to celebrate their 14th release Putrifiers II with performances at the highly regarded All Tomorrows Parties festival and a blitz...

Teased as a "mystery BBQ" performance by The UV Race on a Brunswick St rooftop, a mid-arvo afternoon show has been revealed to be a special set by Thee Oh Sees.

Though a show by The UV Race would no doubt prove substantial in itself, the Melbourne louts will now be joined by the ever-busy Thee Oh Sees. The announcement came after Thee Oh Sees' show at The Corner tonight sold-...

Peering out from side of stage, there was a sea of faces gazed upon John Maus as he took to The Forum main stage – some bemused, some perplexed, few nodding along. Opposed to the intimate enclosure of The Corner on the night previous, it felt as though we were witnessing King Kong tear through a run of retro-tinted pop numbers. Soaking himself with water and sweat,...

Following on from premium first and second lineup announcements, the full roster of the 2012 Sugar Mountain artists has...

If bands like Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The UV Race and Twerps have collectively proved anything, it's that Americans love a good helping of candid, Aussie garage rock. Various installments at different American music festivals, coupled with releases on renowned international labels like Goner and Iron Lung, records have seen the proliferation of these Aussie bands in the thriving...
