It has happened.
Tame Impala have dropped a surprise new single, ‘Patience’, with only one hour’s warning. The single draws on some pretty heavy ’70s disco vibes, while staying true to the iconic psychedelic stylings Tame Impala are loved for. The alert was sent out by their Instagram account with the caption “New track. 1 hour. Speakers/headphones ready people”.

New music was teased by frontman Kevin Parker back in July 2018 on Apple Music’s Beats 1, when he said he was hoping to release a new album within a year’s time. It’ll be the first album since the release of their 2015 record Currents.
Since then, Tame Impala’s been booked to play at Coachella, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza overseas and, according to their Facebook page, there seems to be a nice Splendour In The Grass-shaped gap in their touring schedule.
