The Grownups
The Grownups hit the Australian independent charts in the late 80s/early 90s with two popular singles (Into The Beyond and Snakebite) and a 4-track EP (featuring She Sets Me On Fire), but parted company before recording a full album.
In 2010, 20 years after their last live performance, the band has reformed as a recording project with the objective of finally releasing their first full album. The Light-Filled Corner (released August 2011), completed that unfinished business – but hasn’t ended the urge to write and record.
In 2012, The Grownups will release a collection of one-off singles, each of which will be unlike the previous. By becoming a ‘singles’ band, The Grownups won’t have to so much about an overall ‘album sound’, so will be free to explore all sorts of new sounds.
The first single, Stay Strong, was launched on February 26, 2012. It’s an upbeat, heartfelt love song, from a father to his grown-up daughter.
