This underground event fuses classical and electronic music to create a new, exciting sound

The best of both worlds.

The genre-bending Play On series is returning to Collingwood's Underground Carpark this March, blending the realms of classical and electronic music to form something completely different.

Founded in 2016, the Play On series is an acknowledgment that the boundaries of musical genres were shifting, and brings together two genres that your average music fan may not consider. The underground setting adds a peculiar twist to the already unconventional performance's atmosphere. Play On performances have been held in a bunch of unusual spaces around Melbourne, including the Mission to Seafarers' Norla Dome, the Collingwood Arts Precinct and the Grainger Museum, in addition to a brief stint in Berlin in 2107.

Joining the three-part series this time round are violinist Kyla Matsuura-Miller, percussionist Thea Rossen and Guzheng player Mindy Meng Wang. They'll be supported by live performances and DJ sets from Babicka, Sleep D and Adriana.

Check out the full lineup for Play On:

Friday March 8, Kylia Matsuura-Miller (Violin) and Babicka (DJ Set)
