UK grime festival Eskimo Dance cancels Aussie tour days before it starts

The festival has been cancelled due to "circumstances beyond its control".

UK-run grime festival Eskimo Dance has abruptly cancelled its Australia and New Zealand tour just days before acts were expected to perform.

The grime rave festival was meant to run in Perth on Saturday October 13, Sydney on Thursday October 18 and Melbourne on Sunday October 21. Acts who were performing at the tour Down Under included Wiley, Lethal Bizzle, Big Shaq, Devlin, P Money, DJ Target and Rude Kid.

It's not explicitly clear why the festival has been cancelled, with a festival spokesperson saying it was due to "circumstances beyond its control".

“It’s with genuine sadness that we’ve had to cancel our plans," a spokesperson for the festival said.

"We wanted to bring the biggest ever grime tour outside of the UK to Australia and New Zealand, but unfortunately it has proved impossible to do so at this time."

Aussies and New Zealanders who have purchased tickets for Eskimo Dance are able to receive a full refund on their purchase.
