Tees : Flow

Fresh from Sydney, talented duo Tees have followed the release of their first single ‘Boy’ with this impressive EP.

‘Let Beauty Be’ is not the kind of track you expect to open an album, it’s beautiful and breezy; perfect for late nights when you’re no longer in a state to talk anymore. The pleasurable house vibes continue with break-up anthem ‘Boy’ – which was released with a similarly dreamy music video, directed by William Robertson and Scott Stirling. Singer Lizzy Tillman explains, “It’s a story of ambivalence toward ending a relationship and then finally taking the leap.”

Tillman’s majestic vocals continue to whisk you away through ‘On & On’, which features the most nostalgic ‘90s-inspired beat thanks to Tees’ other half, Sean Duarte.

The album closes with ‘Pull’ and ‘Through You’, which are both a bit more sombre, but incredibly moving thanks to the perfect pairing of vocal harmonies and old-school rave beats.

Tillman said the EP took three years to finish, which allowed “Certain themes and ideas to carry through and connect each of them, inspiring the EP's title”. It certainly paid off.
