Stella Donnelly wins $25,000 Levi's Music Prize at BIGSOUND

It couldn't have gone to a more worthy performer.

It's no secret Stella Donnelly has been going from strength to strength this year. The lauded Australian artist has now added another feather to her cap by taking home the inaugural Levi's Music Prize to the tune of $25,000 to close out Bigsound 2017.
"Bigsound has been an incredible experience," says Donnelly. "There have been so many brilliant artists playing every night and just to be a part of this musical community has blown my mind. To be chosen as the Levi's Music Prize winner is an absolute shock, surprise, and honour."
Three further prizes of $25,000 will be awarded to Bigsound alumni over the coming 12 months to help artists take advantage of relationships and deals cultivated during the event, creating a total annual prize pool of $100,000.
The award closes out a massive year for Bigsound, that's seen a bevvy of the country's finest acts work their magic on stage alongside keynote speeches from industry legends. Over 150 of Australia's hottest new acts took over Fortitude Valley for the event, playing for a record-breaking number of international buyers and guests.
“We thank the Australian music community for once again making us the strongest music events of its type,” says QMusic Executive Officer Joel Edmondson. “We not only congratulate the Inaugural Levi’s Music Prize winner Stella Donnelly, but also all the Bigsound artists that have achieved recording deals, publishing deals, show offers and other outcomes from their Bigsound experience.”
