Splendour In The Grass Finds Permanent Home

After losing Splendour In The Grass to Woodford for a couple of years, Byron Bay gets it's baby back.

However the annual festival will no longer be hosted at its birth-site of Belongil Fields, but after long stints of negotiations with with local councils and concerned residents, 2013 will see the festival at North Byron Parklands at Yelgun, in the Byron Shire.
Just a 20-minute drive from the old Belongil Fields, the event is being given a five year trial period. The new parklands will have an initial capacity of 25,000 and if all goes well 2017 could see numbers boosted to 35,000 in 2017.

This year's event at Belongil Fields, features Jack White, The Shins, Smashing Pumpkins, Bloc Party and and is unfortunately sold out.
