The Smith Street Band cancel upcoming national tour

Frontman Wil Wagner has said he's struggling with health issues.

The Smith Street Band has announced through an open letter shared on Facebook that their upcoming tour will be now cancelled due to Wil Wagner struggling with health issues. This announcement follows a leak of private emails and messages allegedly sent from Wagner to former partners. Camp Cope's Georgia Maq outed herself as one of the alleged email recipients.

According to Music Feeds, accusations of abuse were made against Wagner earlier this year. As the allegations started to surface, two of the support acts for the Smith Street Band's national tour, Sweater Curse and the Beths, pulled out.

The emails were made public by a third-party Instagram account, however they've since been removed. In response, Wagner said that “the private emails were written almost [three] years ago at an incredibly low point in my life at the end of a long-term relationship with someone I loved and cared for very deeply".

“As a result, I said some incredibly hurtful things that I never should have said and expressed myself in a way that I completely regret and apologise for.”
