Sabrina & The Red Vans : Alice Dwyte
Alannah Myles is reincarnated in the purr and snarl vocal gymnastics of Melbourne’s Sabrina Sandapa, the coquettish soul singer fronting Sabrina & The Red Vans. It’s tuneful, but it’s awful, driven by a horribly unsubtle sexuality. This is the rock’n’roll equivalent of dressing as a hot nurse for Halloween – a style designed to please bikers, ageing ‘80s hair rockers and no one else. A pretty good tune to strip to, however.
