Q&A: The Little Stevies

So then, what's the band name and what do you 'do' in the band?

We are called The Little Stevies. I sing and play bass and do the questionnaires.

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like ?

People will say we sound like their lesbian sister's new favourite hipster band, but less pretentious.

What do you love about making music?

I love being able to reply 'I'm a musician' when someone asks what you do, and you both know that you are so much cooler than they are.

What do you hate about the music industry?

The fact that I filled out this exact questionnaire 18 months ago.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

Last time I replied John Lennon, this time I think I'll choose Elvis Costello. Oh wait, he actually saw our music video for our song 'Dink You', and he said he really liked the music and that we'd probably ripped off Flight Of The Conchords for the clip. True story.

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

I'm not going to answer that because last time I said Amy Winehouse and now I have terrible suspicions about Beat Magazine and its readers.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Twenty years of musical synergy rolled into a 45 minute show. Plus an encore.

What've you got to sell CD-wise?

We put out our second album Attention Shoppers in March. It's really good, you should buy it.

When's the gig and with who?

It's at the Queen Victoria Market, with a bunch of vendors and shoppers. It's this Sunday, December 11 at 1.50pm. It's free too, but you should buy a doughnut or some pirate CDs!

Anything else to add?

We can play some Tim and Neil Finn songs if you like...?
