Punk: Straightline announce national tour, Amyl & The Sniffers drop new album, and Masochist announce 7"

German melodic hardcore punks Straightline have announced their debut national tour this March, with support from Melbourne punk rockers Blind Man Death Stare. Both bands have released full-length records in the past year and have both committed to relentless international touring in the time since. Straightline continue to tour in support of their newest album Vanishing Values, while BMDS continue to burn bitumen following the release of 2017’s It’ll Grow on Ya. Catch them both at The Old Bar on Saturday March 17.

Canadian punk/psychobilly rockers The Creepshow have announced a national tour this April. Touring in support of their most recent album Death at My Door, the tour marks the band’s first appearances in Australia since first coming out for the 2010 Soundwave Festival. Joined by Melbourne’s The Resignators, the band will play The Evelyn Hotel on Tuesday April 24.

Melbourne darlings Amyl and the Sniffers have just dropped their debut LP and it’s a bonafide cracker. Comprising their two out of print short-run EPs Giddy Up and Big Attraction, the comp LP is out now on Melbourne’s Homeless Records. They might act tough on stage but the truth is these cats are sweet as sugar with solid tunes to boot. You’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t get the record now because I’m sure it’ll be one of those ones that sells out then everybody wants to have. Catch them live at Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar on Thursday January 25.

Thrash-punks Iron Reagan have announced the upcoming release of a split 12” with death metallers Gatecreeper. Mixed by acclaimed producer Kurt Ballou, the record will be out this March on Relapse Records. The record follows up the band’s 2017 full-length Crossover Ministry.

North Coast NSW hardcore band Masochist have announced the upcoming release of new 7” Blinded. The record will be out on Life.Lair.Regret next month. Pre-orders are available now via the label.

In contrast to most of the straight-edge pretence of the hardcore scene, metallic hardcore lords Integrity have announced the upcoming release of their own branded beer. Working with Philadelphia’s Oliver Brewing Co, the beer will be released at the upcoming Philadelphia Decibel Metal and Beer Fest. Oliver Brewing Co founder Steve Jones explained the background of the Belgian style ale: “Being invited to participate in Decibel Magazine’s Metal and Beer Fest is a dream come true for me. Collaborating with a musical force of the status of Integrity truly is the icing on the cake, a vindication of everything I’ve been trying to achieve pairing beer and music.” Here’s hoping some of it makes its way Down Under.
