Progfest announces first lineup for 2018

2018's showcase of progressive bands.

Progfest announces it's first line up for January 2018 whilst extending the festival to Brisbane and Sydney. The festival will hit all three east coast capital cities this summer after it sold out of tickets for Melbourne in 2016. Progfest features progressive bands of all styles and genres including prog, post, psychedelic, art rock and metal. It is a showcase of bands that think for themselves.

Leading the strongest Progfest lineup yet is Leprous. Norway's prog metal rockers will be headlining all three festival dates, not to mention sideshows in Adelaide and Perth. They have become a 'must see' act of the summer, releasing their album Malina in August 2017.

Joining Leprous are Australian acts; Voyager, the Perth prog masters, Alithia, Melbourne's tribal space rockers, Orsome Welles, the Melbourne experimental musos, Meniscus, Sydney's post rockers and Dyssida, Adelaide's unique prog metal act. Catch all the action on Saturday January 27 at The Corner. Presale starts Thursday October 12 with the general sale on Friday October 13.

Progfest started in 2008 and has become a crucial piece of Australia's prog music scene. In the past acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Caligula's House, Sleepmakeswaves and Twelve Foot Ninja have headlined the festival. Each of these bands have gone on to reach high spots on the ARIA Mainstream chart and are a global success.

Progfest will be at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on Saturday January 27, tickets via Wild Things Presents.
