Premiere: Emilee South unveils new single ‘Heartbreaker’

A new rock'n'roll track from the Melbourne songstress.

‘Heartbreaker’ is the brand-new offering from Melbourne singer Emilee South, an eagerly awaited follow up to 2017’s Motel.

The track is short but sweet, bursting with South’s signature mix of blues, psycho-surf and rock’n’roll. She sings about falling lovestruck for a heartbreaker, before turning the tables to become the heartbreaker herself. Above all, it's catchy and bound to get you singing along to the chorus after only one listen.

South and her band spent a lot of time on the road following their 2017 EP, supporting the likes of Ruby Boots, The Cherry Dolls and The Teskey Brothers, as well as playing Nashville’s Americana Festival. The influence of these artists and that quintessential rhythm, blues and surf style rock'n'roll is still apparent in the new track, which offers a taste of what's to come on the next album.

To celebrate the release of the new single, South and her band will be taking up residency at The Gem every Saturday for the rest of July, so you can catch the ‘Heartbreaker’ live.
