Melbourne Festival 2011

The contemporary music program of the 2011 Melbourne Festival has been revealed, and it's a doozy!

Featuring a solid lineup of international and local talent, this year's 2011 Melbourne Festival looks set to continue its run of near-perfection established with last year's instalment.

Playing over a series of nights at The Forum will be:

Japanese post-rockers MONO, featuring support from rising pop maestro Wintercoats.

US experimentalists Black Dice along with LA's The Smell alumni Lucky Dragons.

Heartfelt folksters Okkervil River announce their return, with support from our very own Roller One.

Hip-hop producer Aesop Rock fronts a massive night at The Forum.

The Democratic Republic Of Congo legends Konono No. 1 (pictured above), with supports from dashing kiwis Bachelorette.

Dead Kennedy's iconic frontman Jello Biafra will perform a very special one-off night of spoken word.

As well as this stellar lineup at The Forum, The Toff In Town will host a smorgasbord of talent.

The Melbourne Festival contemporary music program runs from October 7 until October 22. Full program and ticket info available at the official site.
