Marie Wilson

Who are we chatting to? Marie Wilson. Acoustic guitar, songwriter and vocalist.

What do you reckon people will say you sound like? Melissa Etheridge is the most common comparison.

What do you love about making music? The songwriting process, then smashing it out live, and working with other artists.

What do you hate about the music industry? Everything, with the exception of the above.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why? The Eagles to write and sing harmonies with me.

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why? That’s way too harsh. There’s a place for all music. I don’t judge and trust that others don’t judge me. Oh wait, in hindsight, I would cancel the TV shows that ‘murder’ the natural evolution of a musician.

What can a punter expect from your live show? Positive energy, an enthusiastic audience and quality live music.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise? A couple of studio albums and a live album recorded in 2012.

Marie Wilson will perform at The Workers Club on Friday December 1, with Aimee Francis and BOM.
