Loon Lake Aren't Just Your Friends

After a long summer sweating it out in their studio, indie-pop five-piece Loon Lake have finally perfected the finishing touches on their brand spanking new debut EP - Not Just Friends and it's all ours on June 3!

Loon Lake, a band of three brothers; Simon, Sam and Nick along with two close friends Tim and Dan are an arresting and infectious combination whose frenetic vocals and sweet harmonies are on show in their stunning debut EP - Not Just Friends.

Not Just Friends is mixed by Robin Mae - the man responsible for the musical stylings of Nick Cave and the John Butler Trio. Loon Lake's EP comprises six hook-laden tracks which explode with power pop guitars, off kilter vocals and a couple of high notes here and there leaving a raw sincerity resonating from every infectious raucous riff.
Loon Lake's first demo, Into The Office recieved Triple J airplay and was also the first blistering taste we got of Not Just Friends. However, Loon Lake's debut single In The Summer was that little bit more awesome and landed itself high rotation on Triple J earning itself boasting rights as the band's first official release from the upcoming EP - Not Just Friends.

However, producing wicked tunes is not all that these guys have been getting up to. Last year, Loon Lake had the honour of being aTriple J Unearthed Featured Artist and were also winners of the highly coveted Triple J Big Sound Competition - impressive right?
Loon Lake have also recieved the privledge to support the Red Riders for their last ever shows this June AND are holding their very own spiffy launch for Not Just Friends, with special guests Frowning Clouds. A debut EP, a support act and a record launch, this is just the beginning for the guys at Loon Lake.
