The Lemon Twigs reveal new concept album

Go To School will be a musical about a chimpanzee raised as a human child.

American rock duo and brothers The Lemon Twigs have announced their next release, a concept album with a pretty bizarre storyline. The album, titled Go To School, follows the story of Shane, a chimpanzee that has been raised as if he were a human child as he navigates the obstacles of growing up.

Keeping the project in the family, brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario recruited the help of their parents Susan Hall, who plays Shane's mother, and Ronnie D'Addario for the project, each featuring on the album, as well as Big Star's Jody Stephens and multi-instrumentalist Todd Rundgen - the latter of which who will be playing Shane's father.

The band have given a taste of what's to expect of this intriguing project, releasing the first single from the album 'If You Give Enough'. The album drops late next month.

Go To School is out Friday August 24 via 4AD / Remote Control Records.
