The Jezabels Win The Australian Music Prize
2011 was an absolute cracker of a year for Australian music. But alas, there can only be one winner of the Australian Music Prize, and this year The Jezabels have deservedly taken out the top honours from a very impressive pool of nominees.
Also in the running for the seventh AMP were Abbe May, Adalita, Boy & Bear, Gotye, Gurrumul, Jack Ladder and The Dreamlanders, Kimbra and The Middle East (RIP).
The accolades for The Jezabels cap off what proved to be a massive 2011, with the band going from strength to strength at home and abroad with their stunning debut, Prisoner.
The band are preparing to set off on a suitably massive national tour, headlining many large-capacity venues in the process.
Beat congratulates The Jezabels on their win. Check out details of The Jezabels' massive upcoming tour here.
