Jen Cloher Wins Management Award

Jen Cloher has won the 2013 Lighthouse award for her work in DIY music management. She mentors musicians in areas of self-management through her national ‘I Manage My Music’ program.

At the same time the Melbourne-based singer songwriter continues to prove how a self-managed musician can build her career: last year she released her third album Blood Memory and did a national 35-date tour with Mia Dyson and Liz Stringer.
The Lighthouse award is sponsored by APRA AMCOS and supported by The Association of Artist Managers, AIR ,Music Victoria and BIGSOUND. The winner receives $5,000 to develop and expand their career.
It was set up in memory of Linda Gebar who passed away in 2008. Linda was a successful music manager and booker, as well as a mentor and strong supporter of the Victorian music community.
“This award remembers the life and spirit of Linda Gebar,” said Cloher. “She worked passionately to strengthen the world-class music community we share in Melbourne. There are always people behind the good things that happen in the music industry and Linda was one of those people.”
