A huge festival celebrating New York and Melbourne arrives this June

Featuring performances, exhibitions, talks, events, and more.

MEL&NYC is a brand new festival celebrating two of the world's greatest cultural capitals -- Melbourne and New York City.

Coinciding with NGV's epic MoMA exhibition featuring Dalil, Pollock and more, the festival boasts an unprecedented program of events presented by leading Melbourne organisations and communities.

Venues and institutions on board as part of the festival include ACCA, ACMI, the Arts Centre, Chunky Move, FCAC, The Melbourne Writers Festival, The Wheeler Centre and heaps more.

Program highlights include a New York-inspired film festival taking place at the Astor, a Footscray and Brooklyn Block Party hitting FCAC, an Italian-American lunch as served by Tipo 00, artist talks, West Side Story performed live to film by the MSO, and a tribute to the great composer Leonard Bernstein celebrating what would have been his 100th birthday.

MEL&NYC takes places throughout Melbourne from June through to August 2018. Head here for full program details
