Grampians Music Festival sets the standard for 2019

Every aspect of GMF is tailored to make sure no opportunity is wasted on The Valley Floor.

Victoria’s most wholesome banger of a festival, Grampians Music Festival, has announced 2019 dates and release of early bird tickets for its third year of sustainable booging. GMF is also promoting their popular youth mentorship program, and a new Respect, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

GMF will roll into the Grampians Mountain Ranges between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 February 2019, and will be committing to a mission of sustainability, authenticity and good vibes.

As we all know, 2018 has seen an unprecedented response from Aussie festival punters to the ways in which our favourite fests organise, book, and promote themselves. GMF have taken some good notes and have tailored their Safe Space Policy to be a policy of respect, diversity and inclusion. The management team aim to enforce shared responsibility and encourage mutual respect between musicians, staff and punters alike.

However, one of the festival’s most inspiring and ambitious programs is the Youth Mentorship Program. Mentorships are offered to any youths between the ages of 17 and 21 who hail from the Northern Grampians Shire, and cover areas such as event management, marketing and public relations, site design, festival décor, artist management and volunteer management. The program commences on Tuesday 25 September 2018 and will conclude on the last day of the festival in February 2019. Soaking in the sun, listening to the best up-and-coming Aussie artists and gaining valuable career experience? Consider this the best internship opportunity in the history of internships. Ever.

As for the lineup, you’ll just have to hold on a little longer. 2019’s artists will be announced on Wednesday 31 October, and GMF Director Carly Flecknoe is as excited as we are; “we’re so excited about what we’re planning for our 2019 lineup and can’t wait to share it with our audience.”

GMF alumni include Alex Lahey, Polish Club, Tired Lion and Didirri – just to name a few. The GMF team assure those waiting for the announcement that the third year’s set will be just as stacked.

GMF will roll into the Grampians Mountain Ranges between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 February 2019. More information on the Youth Mentorship Program is available at the GMF website, along with the currently-available early bird tickets.
