Good Beer Week : The Brooklyn Block Party

Since brewing its first batch of malty, hoppy goodness in 1988, Brooklyn Brewery has built a name for itself in the international beer-drinking scene. From its base in the Williamsburg neighbourhood of New York's Brooklyn borough, the brewery has delighted the tastebuds of beer enthusiasts worldwide with its dedication to the art of brewing and ever-increasing range of beer varieties. Brooklyn Beer will be uniting the people of Melbourne with the Brooklyn Block Party, running across both Section 8 and Ferdydurke in the heart of the city on Saturday May 20. Melbourne's iconic outdoor bar, Section 8, will be running the party on the ground level, with performances from New York's GE-OLOGY, as well as Melbourne hip hop and soul groovers ESESE as well as a host of other vibe facilitators. Brass Knuckle BBQ will be presenting gastronomical goods from 2pm, so get in early. Upstairs, Ferdydurke will be offering $5 barber cuts from 2pm while The ReChords and Rattlin' Bones Blackwood rock it up. Of course, Brooklyn Brewery beers will be flowing from both venues. Entry is free, so you'll have more money to spend on beverages.
