The Darkness Australian Tour 2012
Few in the 2000s rocked harder than The Darkness. Breaking through with the fucken awesome debut Permission To Land, the band endured many bust-ups, a revolving door member policy, and a terminal case of sophomore album syndrome before combusting in a veritable snowstorm. Now in 2012, the classic lineup is back, better than ever. Fuck. Yes.
With follow-up LP One Way Ticket To Hell... And Back failing to lead up to expectations, the band entered a steep decline until eventually disbanding in 2006 due to lead singer Justin's admission to rehab. The band continued briefly with a different frontman, to little avail.
In 2011 it was announced the band had reformed with all original members, and an Australian tour has been hotly rumoured ever since.
Now, the band have prefaced a full tour announcement on their Facebook with a not-so-cryptic message:
"Dear Australia. Keep your eyes and ears open for some interesting news unveiled this Tuesday. Its been a while coming, but the time is upon us where we should pay you some attention 'down under' x"
Expect to hear that falsetto, those riffs, and the all-out sheer bombast we knew and loved when The Darkness take to The Palace this May.
Support comes from rising locals Baptism Of Uzi.
Just listen to the rhythm of the heart.
The Darkness perform at The Palace on Tuesday May 8.
