Is there anything in this world more fucking painful and debilitating that FOMO? For those less not familiar with this totally hip, young vernacular, it's netspeak (hahaha, that's something my mum says) for Fear Of Missing Out. Right now I have the most crushing case known to man and it's quite devastating.

You see, a small fraction of my friends and loved ones are presently in the USA, having enjoyed the festivities surrounding The Fest's 10th Anniversary Festival. This took place in that mystical town - made known to us only in stories and lyric booklets - Gainesville, Florida. Yes, this land of wonder is now occupied by some of my favourite people in the world and my favourite bands in the world (ahem, Make Do And Mend, Hot Water Music, The Bouncing Souls, Against Me, The Flatliners, Polar Bear Club, A Wilhelm Screammmarrgggh GOD DAMMIT) and yet I am still here, couch-ridden, eating my bodyweight in bolognaise and watching repeat episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I am a loser of the highest order and last weekend, knowing that somewhere out there A Wilhelm Scream were treating my smug fuck friends with a rendition of Mute Print in all its godly entirety, soured everything I attempted to do that afternoon . Like spiking your mate's beer with a tipple of tequila, that taste just won't quit and you're left to sip away at your tainted filth water feeling sorry for yourself.

Cartel have cancelled their upcoming Australian tour, flat out citing promoter Parallel Touring as the cause of their heartache. The band posted: "the promoter we were going through completely screwed everything up and there's no way to rectify the mistakes that were made in time to make it happen…it's sad that one person in the chain blew it for everyone involved but it just so happens to be the case". Parallel responded saying "People must understand there are many more contributing factors to the tour cancellation than a simple blame aim at the promoter, followed by a few sympathetic online posts to win several fans over." Support act The Miracle Is Now are still playing east coasts shows and will hit Bang this Saturday night.

It seems local bands are BUSTING to hit the road this summer with a string of local tours having just been announced.Thy Art Is Murder will headline a tour with Germany's War From A Harlots Mouth, The Bride and Make Them Suffer this December. Titled the Soldiers Of Immortality tour, this carnival will roll into Melbourne on December 10 to decimate the Corner Hotel for an overage show followed by an underage show on Sunday December 11.

New UNFD signing Northlane have announced an extensive headlining tour this month with a veritable shitload of Victorian dates scheduled. Catch them at POW Nightclub on Friday November 25, Narre Warren Leaning Center (AA) on Sunday November 26, Bang on Saturday November 26, Musicanman Megastore in Bendigo on Saturday November 27 and The Loft in Warrnambool on Thursday December 1. Their new album Discoveries drops on November 11.

Gold Coast pop punk ensemble Skyway have announced a summer tour to support their debut album Finders Keepers. They've scheduled an overage date at Next on Thursday December 8 followed by an all ages gig at EV's in Croyden on Friday December 9.
