Art And Music To Collide At NGV

NGV have announced the latest series in their newly evolving music program, Unplugged Live: Portrait of an Artist, opening this July.

The series will feature some of Australia’s best established and emerging artists including Missy Higgins, Bob Evans, Paul Dempsey, Adalita, Melody Pool, New Gods and more coming together to celebrate the interconnected nature between art and music.
Set amongst the 19th and 20th century galleries, musicians and curators will respond to selected works, exploring the stories and themes reflected in the art and in their songs. The series aims to make comparisons between the themes present in the songs of our well-loved songwriters and the way they are explored in some of the Australian visual art on display in the gallery.
It will complement the Friday night music series that will continue as part of the Italian Masterpieces exhibition.

Unplugged Live: Portrait of an Artist will be held in the 19th and 20th century Australian art galleries at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia. The weekly series will open with Bob Evans on Sunday July 6.
