So then, w hat's the band name and what do you 'do' in the band?

O: "Ollie Whitehead (O) and Alex Lahey (A). We're called ANIMAUX. Alex is the lead vocals/alto sax player, and I play tenor sax."

W hat do you reckon people will say you sound like?

O: "Somewhere within the mysterious genre of pop-funk." A: "That's a bloody hard question, I can't even answer that. Everyone would have to see us to make up their own mind."

What do you love about making music?

O: "Being able to make people dance as much as we do when we're on stage."

What do you hate about the music industry?

A: "The fact that it's so hard to determine whether or not someone is genuinely interested in what you have to offer musically, or has other, more sinister, motives."

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why ?

O: "Sly (& the Family Stone). Still the greatest ever." A: "Clarence Clemons from the E Street Band - the big man himself."

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who and why?

O: "Vanilla Ice. Criminal." A: "Whoever wrote that damn Friday song."

What can a punter expect from your live show?

A: "Horns, groove, and some hectic tambourine playing."

What 've you got to sell CD-wise?

O: "Our EP is being launched on September 15at The Northcote Town Hall and our demo tracks will be available on our facebook page within the coming weeks for FREE."

When's the gig and with who?

O: "Every Monday in July at The Evelyn Hotel, with different guests each week. Noah Harris and The Kilniks are supporting us this coming Monday (July 11)." A: "Every week has a ripper lineup; it's going to be awesome."

Anything else to add?

A: "If you really want to kick off your week with a feast for the ears, the ANIMAUX residency at The Ev is where you want to be." O: "We'd love to see you there!"
