Chase & Status : No More Idols

No More Idols is Chase & Status’ follow up album to their 2008 debut. The time between albums has seen the British duo partnering with a bunch of industry big names, remixing for Jay-Z and The Prodigy and producing for Rihanna. This has certainly rubbed off positively onto their latest original offering. Opening with the catchy, jungle-esque No Problem, the album then dives into some epic, guitar riff laden dubstep, before presenting last year’s downtempo single Blind Faith. No More Idols is packed with massive rinse outs and funky break downs, and the best is saved till last with End Credits featuring Plan B, - from the 2009 film Harry Brown. A well structured, cohesive yet varied album, No More Idols features an abundance of guest vocalists, including Tinie Tempah, Cee-Lo Green, and Dizzee Rascal; perhaps just a few too many cooks. Chase & Status remain, however, kings in the realm of drum n bass anthems.
